Ladies and gents, if your Christmas wish is to zone out for an hour to some Drum & Bass gems, then your wish has been granted. The folks over at Hospital Records in London are celebrating 15 years of pumping out some golden DNB tracks, and the full length mix can be heard on YouTube via their official channel. Now I don’t know about y’all, but that really makes my day.
I first fell in love with drum & bass about six years ago when I first heard a track by Aphrodite. Since then I’ve been a huge fan of the genre and I’m glad that Hospital Records continues to pump out some of the best DNB in the biz. Yes, of course there are a lot of indie producers and artists not associated with the label who still produce good music, but I love the label’s resident producers High Contrast, Netsky, and S.P.Y.
Perhaps I’m alone on this, but don’t you just love the pulsating rush of DNB? There is just something so exhilarating about the way the beats toy with your blood and get you hyped. I especially love when the beat goes insane, but remains dreamy thanks to a piano chord or some majestic whimsical sounds. Ah, DNB is so good and this mix from Hospital Records is clearly on point! Don’t take my word for it, have a listen for yourself.
